156 – The Beatles – Here Comes The Sun (1969)
Written by George Harrison
Produced by George Martin
Label – Apple

Despite all the acrimony and animosity that each Beatle felt as their relationships with each other began to unwind, it’s incredible that George Harrison should create his most sweetly uplifting song. Following continued meetings with banks, financial advisers and lawyers, George found time to escape to Eric Clapton’s home on a beautiful spring day. Sitting at the top of a hill, strumming acoustic guitars, Eric came up with “it’s been a long cold lonely winter” which inspired the construction of a riposte to Paul McCartney’s “You Never Give Me Your Money”.
